Basra governor, U.S. delegation discuss investments

BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Basra Governor Shaltagh Abboud discussed on Thursday with a high-ranking U.S. delegation investment and rehabilitation projects in the province.

“The meeting discussed the issue of inviting U.S. firms to build a water dam in Basra,” Governor Abboud told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He said that the U.S. delegation proposed several ideas regarding projects in Basra.

The oil-rich port city of Basra lies 590 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
