MISSAN / Aswat al-Iraq: The Iraqi minister of municipalities and public works, Riad Ghareeb, opened Friday two water compounds south of Amara city, with a total cost of 3.02 billion Iraqi dinars, said the director of Missan water department.
“The two facilities are located at al-Majar al-Kabeer district, (35 km) south of Amara,” Engineer Mohanad Kadhom told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
“The capacity of each facility is 200 cubic meters per hour,” he said.
Minister Ghareeb said that the compounds “will serve the district and residents of nearby areas”.
Amara, the capital city of Missan province, lies 390 km south of Baghdad.
